Lenox cream-colored porcelain bone china, with three gold bands and one thin green band. The artistry of the hand-painted decoration on this lovely antique Lenox pedestal cake stand is simply spectacular! A yellow bird with red & black wing and blue/grey tail, perched on a branch or sprig with green leaves. Made in the 1930s or 1940s, the hallmark is the older “green stamp” Lenox mark.
A superb piece of vintage Lenox, this piece would nicely grace any setting — a great gift for your Audubon Society birdwatcher ornithologist friend, also would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift.
SPECS: 9″ in diameter, about 4.6″ tall, weight is 1 lb 4 oz. On the bottom, green back-stamp: LENOX, Made in USA, with script-letter “L” surrounded by laurel wreath. Also on the bottom, handwritten in gold, shape and decoration numbers: 1124/P467. Mint condition — a few light superficial scratches on top from normal use — but no chips, no cracks, no repairs.
