GM WEBSTER Chased Silver Teapot Tea Pot
Chased silverplate teapot with ivory finial; Georgian style. Scalloped-oval shape with flared sides, and a flat top. Lots of chasing -- the design includes a flowers & leaves pattern, with a large pedaled flower in four places.
On the bottom: "G.M. Webster, 5, 469"
Specs & Condition: 10.33" (262 mm) handle-to-spout, approx 6.5" (165 mm) tall, base is 6.2" x 4.95" (157mm x 125mm), weight is 1 lb 10.4 oz (748 g). There is a 1.4" long crack on the handle, see the RULER photo. Also, what appears to me to be a manufacturing defect "blister", see the RED PEN photo. The lid sits nice and snug when closed, but does have approx 1/8" side-to-side movement when open. I was able to polish away much (but not all) of the tarnish -- the remaining dark areas are most likely loss of plating.
