Antique “Sterling” model wye level, serial number 963. Founded in 1912 by J. Henry Warren and Henry R. Knight, the Warren-Knight Company of Philadelphia produced this brass wye level circa 1910s (Warren-Knight is also well known for their surveyor transits). In ‘as found’ condition — lots of great vintage aged patina.
SPECS: 12 inch telescope smoothly extends to about 13.75 inches (and the sunshade lens-hood adds another 2 inches), fluid-filled level beneath the telescope is working, loosen the thumbscrew directly beneath the eyepiece and it rotates smoothly through its 360 degrees, leveling screws turn smoothly and function as they should. Reticle crosshairs nicely visible when you look through the telescope. Overall height is 7.75 inches, weight is 7 lbs 9 oz.
