Nikon M Nippon Kogaku MIOJ 35mm Rangefinder Camera + Nikkor + ER Holster

Vintage 1950 Nippon Kogaku M rangefinder camera (MIOJ, 24x34) and lens in excellent cosmetic condition, and leather holster.

CAMERA BODY — Nikon M, serial number 6093520, also known as Nikon MS / Nikon M sync. Made in 1950, MIOJ (Made in Occupied Japan, impressed into the back), Red-colored F/S sync terminals on the side, 24x34mm film aperture. Red dot engraved just below the serial number on the top plate. The back has a matching serial number, stamped inside, and there is a take-up spool included.

Cosmetically excellent, however, the body is non-functional. While depressing the shutter button we can get the shutter curtain to move only by "helping" it along while manually rotating the shutter-speed dial. The following function: Lens infinity-lock levers, fine-focus adjust wheel, coupled rangefinder. There is a 7x4mm piece of the textured leather missing on the side below the sync terminals, and a couple smaller ones on the back. The leather covering is also beginning to detach in some places, with some "bubbles" on the back. Body with lens weigh in at 1 lb 14 oz.

LENS — f2.0/5cm Nikkor H-C (f2.0/50mm), bayonet, serial number 617863. Aperture diaphragm and focus mechanisms are both smooth. No scratches on the front or rear elements, but there is haze, fungus, or coating degradation on some elements inside. The lens bayonet mount has a very small amount of "play", which might be typical for this model. Filter threads are good; "Enteco" screw-on filter.

LEATHER HOLSTER — Debossed Nikon logotype on the front, and "Nippon Kogaku, Tokyo" on the back. The leather strap is torn.
